THE INCARNATION OF CHRIST IN YOU

YOU-LIVING FRUIT OF CHRIST’S VINE

We live more fruitfully when we know what Jesus accomplished for us in spirit and in truth. Knowing the reason for the faith that is in us protects us from deficient gospel and their crippling effects. Basically Jesus undid the separation from God that Adam began. The fall did not means we became unloved by God or that we were completely cut-off. But it did means that we became lesser versions of ourselves ay the best and wicked versions of ourselves in many cases.

THIS GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM
So what did Jesus accomplish? He undid the separation that Adam had begun in going with Satan’s lie. When Jesus cried, ‘It is finished!’ it meant separation from God was finished – that is the separation of our being from God in our misguide independence -  which means  the ending of our the separation of our spirit, soul and body from God in the atonement he made by the cross. Since the cross our being is joined to God in the person of Jesus who is the joining of us in Himself. Rising again, Jesus declares that He has undone death in all its forms. Sure, we still sin and we are often the wounded healer of others but we now have the capability of being  forgiven and alive in Christ’s Spirit and life and thus face the world as life-gives to ourselves and those we live with.

ADAM OLD AND NEW
Adam represents all humanity. Adam’s disobedience brought death to everyone. Jesus is the “new Adam.” He also represents all humanity. Jesus’ obedience brings life to everyone. Adam broke his relationship with God and hid from God in fear. Jesus lived in close relationship with God, doing only his Father’s will. The disobedience of the “old Adam” put all humanity under the penalty of eternal death. The obedience of the “new Adam” (Jesus) puts all humanity under the promise of eternal life. Death came to everyone through the disobedience of the “old Adam.” Life comes to everyone through the obedience of the “new Adam.”(1)

As a result, Christ is our life. In Jesus we live new creation and are alive with the spirit and life. Thus we are Kingdom agents and Life-Givers.
