TRUE GOD OF TRUE GOD

God does not exist in relation to or with reference to anything greater than Himself. Since Jesus Christ was fully God neither did He. This is to say that Christ is the I AM of Himself and of Reality. As such God is the logos, the meaning, purpose and basis of the cosmos in Himself. Thus to say that there is a law that is superior to God or abstracted from God, or that Jesus lived subordinated to such an entity is a mistake as well as a myth. No such reification exists. The triune God is the I AM of Being.
GOD REVEALS GOD
“God makes himself known through himself alone .. he reveals himself in Jesus Christ and actualises his revelation through his Spirit, which implies that divine revelation is intrinsically trinitarian in its content, movement and structure.” (1) The implication of this is that theologies built on the law as the essence of reality are specious and fallacious to the extent that the core of reality is personal, being the trinity and not some combination of the knowledge of good and evil.
FROM WITHIN
Further to this, the revelation of God to ourselves is not only from externalities but is born witness to from within our being through our mind, will and emotions and mainly through our spirit – by the Holy Spirit to that part of us that many of us call ‘our heart’.
SPIRIT OF REVELATION
“The doctrine of the Holy Trinity gives expression to the fact that through Jesus Christ and in his Spirit God has opened himself to us in such a way that in being reconciled to him we lowly sinful creatures may know him, at least in some measure, in the inner relations of his divine Being and have communion with him in his intra-trinitarian Life as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He reveals himself to us, not only from without or from above, in the advent of his Son as the incarnate Saviour among us, but also from below, in a movement of his Spirit in which through his presence within us he meets himself from our end, thereby bringing us within the circle of his knowing of himself and his revealing of himself through himself.” (2)
GOD WITH US AND IN US
The cool thing is, that God shares His intimate self, intimately with us into our spirit and the affairs of our lives. There is no ‘unmoved mover’ about God, no sterile word as in ‘the letter that kills’ and no God who is a legalist by nature. There is a Word who is the Christ of God who is the essence of what it means to be alive with life and love. We will be fully human and fully alive in Christ our life.
None of us have to be an ideologue, as some of us are. The one genuine humanism/Godliness comes to us as we invite Jesus, Father and Holy Spirit to incarnate themselves in us so that we are the expression and manifestation of God as daughters and sons. Just live the eucharist.
