THE INCARNATION OF CHRIST IN YOU

THE MANIFEST PRESENCE IS INCARNATED YOU

There’s an inner world in you that is your real self. This is the self that came from God and which is being called in the present by God to become ‘who this self-is’ in oneness with Christ. You have an alpha in Christ that is the you, who was seen by Christ before the world began. You have an omega in Christ – this is who you are becoming in Christ your life, as you and as the God incarnated you.

JOINED TO THE ROCK FROM WHICH YOU ARE HEWN
You can live a Kingdom Life of joined dots or a lesser religious life made mostly of dots. Jesus offers us not a partial life but life without limit that begins now.

The glory of our true self in Christ is far superior to the little iconic pendants of holiness that we clutch to ourselves by way of self-grace and auto sanctification. We grow in genuine wholeness and holiness by living in the treasure of our inheritance. Christ has joined us to God.

REALISING YOUR ONENESS WITH GOD
‘On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you’ John 14.20 NIV. This is the day Christ becomes our life and we begin to grow from glory to glory as sons/daughters of God. Now we are living as expressions of the Christ.

SPIRITUAL SEARCH
““
Know thyself” was the Greek inscription that greeted ancient pilgrims at the entrance to the temple at Delphi. This admonition is the most basic expression of the spiritual search. Even before one can seek God, one must know who it is who seeks God. When one knows oneself, everything else becomes clearer. Discovery of our true nature opens our eyes to the true nature of God and the world.” (1) I would argue that knowing oneself begins with the commitment to follow Jesus.

DISCIPLESHIP
We begin to know ourselves when we make the transition from independence to belief in Jesus as our life. Informed and enlightened belief grows as we follow Jesus as He leads rather than being contained and imprisoned in inherited and common myths that produce stagnation and hollow talk.

WALKING AS HOLLOW FOLKS
We are talking unconditional discipleship in which we press into Christ’s beliefs and repent of making religion out of our own beliefs – many of which are common myths and fragments of subverted kingdom life. Contained in a cocoon of inherited wrong beliefs we may never know God or know ourselves. God and self, remain hidden. The truth of who Christ is and who we are in Him remains insulated by myths and distorted beliefs – until we are born again into Him.

‘Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again”’ John 3,3 NIV. Many will go to heaven without ever having seen or represented the Kingdom of God on earth because they lived this life in religion. Here we can have droplets of life because of grace. But with ‘Christ in you’, we have rivers of living water and are agents of Kingdom spirit and life every day. There’s satisfaction in making a difference as a life-giver in this life.

KINGDOM PEOPLE. OR NOT
An interesting insight I gained at a Christian conference once was that we can be Christians and sincere, yet not be agents of the Kingdom. Not agents due to our partial understanding or baptism in an aberrant gospel. The best that can be said is that ‘we were there’.

NON-SEPARATION
Paul’s Christ our life statement is a declaration of non-duality. Christ is not separate from you, not an entity rattling around inside you. Christ is woven into your being. You are woven into Christ and as a result woven into God. In this new and living way you come to know who the Lord is and who you are. You have been born again into Reality. You are now an agent of the New Creation Kingdom of God.

BORN INTO REALITY
We are born in Christ into oneness with God. This is to say that for the religious person we have been born out of religion into union with God in Christ. In religion the illusion is that we are in the company of God. In the new birth we are one with God. Jesus told Nicodemus that this oneness was where one see’s, discerns and knows the Kingdom of God. In religion we cannot perceive this Kingdom because our spirit remains separated from God. When we are born again we will ‘see the kingdom of God.’

BORN AGAIN – A CHANGE IN BEING
We are not born again because we stop our drugs/adultery. We are born again because we die and Christ becomes our life.

CHRIST OF GOD AND ONE WITH GOD
In his prologue, John makes it clear who he understands Christ to be. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God…. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld his glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth…. No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten God, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.” (John 1:1, 14, 18)

MIND OF CHRIST
“Not only is this divine consciousness the experience of Jesus, it is also the experience of Jesus’ followers. In the prayer of Jesus, which was offered shortly before his arrest and death, Jesus makes it clear that he expects his followers to know this same Oneness. Jesus prayed for his followers, “that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.” (2)

Read through a ‘law lens’ this passage is misinterpreted as, ‘You better get yourselves together and start loving each other if you want to be accepted by Me.’ A very bent Christianity may be expressed as ‘ You better shape up to deserve Christ.’ False-gospel communities can be riddled with this sentiment.

INCLUDED IN GOD
The True Gospel is that in Christ we have oneness with Him and in Him oneness with the trinity – so that we embody the communion that is God. This Communion is Love Alive. Christ has drawn us into this presence. This trinity lives in us so that we are imbued with the qualities of God. The ability to be individuals yet one in togetherness. In this direct communion we take on the nature of God. This is sons/daughters lived in peace and fruitfulness.

I went to a large charismatic church once that had a nicely furnished prayer room. We did a prayer room at our church too. There are benefits. Yet we need not be in church or a prayer room to pray and enjoy oneness with God. Christ is in us, and the trinity is with us. Freedom and fruitfulness are found when we realise that Christ is not contained in buildings or rooms. He lives in us. Where we are can be our prayer room and needs to be. Kingdom Believers are the manifestation of Christ.
