THE INCARNATION OF CHRIST IN YOU

GOD’S STEPS TO US

Jesus must reach us in order to fully redeem us. He must reach us from within our brokenness and alienation from God. God came in Christ to undo the work of Adam as both Son of Adam and Son of God. In other words Jesus, as both God and man, lays hold of the human race in order to reconcile all humanity back to God. He reached us in the pit of our despair and uncertainty, in order that He might include us into the very life of the Trinity.

INCLUSION
It’s not hard to be infatuated with the law because we think it excludes people not like us and includes self-entitled people like us. This is the substance of the self-help tree of the knowledge of good and evil. In Christ’s grace all are included. All are invited to live in this belonging which comes to us without money and without price.

THE YEAST OF LIFE
The Kingdom of God is not only an eschatological event. It is the new creation that grows in us as we agree with Christ that we are incarnated with His person and that the fullness of God lives in us. Incarnation is a double oneness. Christ in us and us in God.

This is why the law is irrelevant. It leads to Christ but never is Christ. We need a living person within our being to join us to God and imbue us with the life of God. A moral life may indicate a life in Christ. Also, it may not. Jesus indicated that His life is among us when we love one another. He was speaking of His incarnated life in each of us that we possess because we are one in Him and as a result one with the oneness of the trinity which is original and real life ( John 17).

DON’T LIVE IN SEPARATED MOSES

Don’t live in separated Moses when your treasure is Christ’s union with God as your life.

It’s apparent that in the present Western political culture people can have strong ideas which often contain elements of truth and justice. But what is very clear is that many do not love people who differ. They live to manipulate and control and they overflow with condemnation. When this culture taints Christianity, we hinder Christ.

YOU AND FATHER ARE ONE – OR NOT

Jesus tells us that His joining of humanity to the oneness of Himself in Father imbues us with this God-love so that we become this love and witness to the world. This is a real love that does not manipulate, control and hate. It is oneness and fosters the oneness in individuality that is the trinity.

Jesus complained of people whom ‘He did not know’. A pastor told me once that people can be saved even though they do not belong to or represent the Kingdom of God. I was surprised to hear this, but observation has endorsed this in my mind. Sincere people who have been formed in distorted gospels can come to the end of their lives without ever having lived in the fullness of the sons of God. They lived sincerely as workers and slaves of the old covenant, trying to put a decent face on what they had. Grace means that all belong but grace does not mean that all are Kingdom Representatives.

BLINDNESS AND VISION

‘Jesus replied, "Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again."’ John 3.3 NIV.

Grace means that we have the opportunity to be born again. But we are not born again if we have retained ourselves in the law. Neither are we born again if we are living from religion, even if it is Christian. Moralists are not born again. From these positions people cannot see the Kingdom of God or minister it.  We are born again when we agree with Christ that Christ is our life.

DROPS AND RIVERS

If born of the law we are not born of the Spirit. We are born from that in which we have been socialised – which can be the law, religion works of charity or spiritual manifestations. Any mode of being that is not Christ our life misses the mark. The result is that we minister droplets of life when we could be ministering rivers of living water.

CHRIST OUR LIFE

Jesus assumed your life so that He can be your life. In this new and living way you become the self that was seen before the fall and the self that has come into being as a result of your new creation in Jesus’ resurrection. This is the alpha and omega of you in Christ.

“The followers of Christ share the Oneness that Jesus had. The awareness of Oneness was supposed to be the distinguishing characteristic of Christians, and the means that would draw people to faith in Christ. Jesus was a proclaimer of nonduality, and he prayed that his followers would experience the same Oneness that he knew.” (1)
